Hi-

Thank you for your comment. Infomercials are a great idea for certain industries - and those who have the budget! Thanks!

Interesting definition for blog. I would add to infomercial. I can attest that blogging really does help with SEO

Perry,

Thank you for posting - this is an excellent question. This is what I think: First it's important to set goals for your blogging (and any other marketing you do). Why are you blogging? What are you trying to achieve? Do you want more recognition for your company? Are you blogging to get people to know, like and trust your company? Are you using it as an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tool to get your site and your business known? If your answer to these questions is "yes" then you want to make sure your company brand is what is represented in your blog.

As a Marketing Coach/Consultant, I completely understand the "person" vs. the "company" brand dilemma. For me, I live, eat, sleep and breathe marketing and the Duct Tape System, so the Carolyn Higgins brand and the Fortune Marketing Company brand are pretty much one in the same these days. Do I have other interests? Of course I do, but my #1 goal is to promote my business. So that is what I put out there on the blogosphere- content that will get me recognized as someone who knows something about marketing and has a burning desire to help small businesses succeed.

Does that help?? Thanks again for reading my blog and for posting your thoughtful question. Good luck and let me know when you get your blog up, I'd love to read it!
