The Best Marketing in the World Can’t Fix a Bad Business

Do you wonder why you don’t sell more? Does it seem no matter what you try, people just won’t buy from you?

If you haven’t started your business yet, do some research: is there a market for your product or service? Who buys it? Why and when do they buy it? This is critical knowledge- don’t skip it.

And if you already have a business, do an inventory. Would you hire you?  Take an honest, objective look at the work you do. Is it really great? Does it stand out from your competition? Would you refer your mother or your best friend to your own company? Are you buying the best supplies, hiring the best people, creating quality work? Do you feel good about the work you do?

If you answered no to any of those, then before you invest in marketing, invest in making your business GREAT.  Buy new equipment. Get the training you or your staff need to improve your skills. Hire the help you need to deliver a better product or service. Hire a professional business consultant who will give you the kick in the pants you need to up your game.

If you aren’t willing to look in the mirror or hire a professional to give you the cold hard truth, you might want to consider getting a job. No matter how much you spend on Marketing, you can’t make a bad business a successful one.
