As a small business coach I run into those comments myself way too frequently.

Actually I&#039;d add a couple of more excuses that I hear. 

1) I can&#039;t afford marketing -- So they go for the networking that they say costs nothing.
2) And the biggest reason that their marketing didn&#039;t work, and the reason that marketing was too expensive, was that their marketing message was &quot;I am a ________ [fill in their label]&quot; which is what doesn&#039;t work.  Add that to your points that they don&#039;t know who.</description>
